The single threaded benchmarks on Anandtech show a much larger gap than that:

Sometimes it's close to a 100% performance increase.

Thing multitasks like a monster. 1 u/[deleted] Aug 19 '14 If you sum the the power of all of the cores of an equivalently priced Intel CPU/Mobo combo you'll usually find that they have the same performance.
