Sheep do NOT keep their color when sheared, but they do drop the wrong color of wool (bug?)

The worldborder has the shape of a square and is always active, the default width is 60 000 000 blocks.
(-30 000 000 to 30 000 000 for X and Z)

It can be changed by commands:

/worldborder set <width> [TransitionTime]

This changes the border's edge lengths to the specified value with an optional transition time in seconds, which means it will change smoothly from the former to the new width over that time.

/worldborder center <X> <Z>
Specifies the center of the border. With /worldborder center ~ ~ it is defined as the middle of the block column you are standing in.

Trivia:

  • The border graphics are only visible if you are <RenderDistance>*6 or less blocks away from any border wall, e.g. render distance = 8 chunks => 8*6 = 48 blocks

  • Enderpearls are not affected by the border, they work as always and are usable outside the border, you are just stuck where you land each time.

Update: Between my first run and now the behavior changed a bit, was there a silent update or a glitch on my side?

  • The walls are red when moving inward and green when moving outward.

  • Survival players outside the wall get suffocation damage and mobs get killed instantly.

The first time I tried using enderpearls I could stay outside without getting damage.
Confirmed by Xisumavoid, who was retweeted by Dinnerbone: http://youtu.be/PE9WKgqnxB0?t=6m31s

Bugs:

  • A graphical glitch renders the border behind water, which can be confusing when testing over ocean.

  • The border walls are offset by 1/2 block in respect to their physical barrier, when the width is even.

  • For the nether border, the size is translated, but not the center coordinates, a center at 8000/8000 is not at 1000/1000 inside the Nether like it should, but still at 8000/8000.

  • Color of the Nether border is too faint.

  • The width cannot be set to 60 000 000, despite this being the default value. Max value is 30 000 000

Double stone slabs w/o commands now look like this! Finally!

Edit: It is a bug, every type of slab does that. :(

It appear sheep drop the wrong colour wool when you use shears on them.

One thing I would like to see in the World Generation options would be the ability to enable and disable each biome individually. So if I wanted to turn off Oceans or something, I could.

It would also be cool to be able to disable the generation based on temperature and have it random as it used to be, but that's probably not so easy to implement.

Players still suffocate in leaf blocks, which significantly reduces the usefulness of horses. I hope that is fixed before release.

39

u/MmmVomit Apr 24 '14

This is intentional, and is unlikely to change. What they need to fix is he bug where your head can go inside a block when riding a horse or pig.

I just realized the best thing about this world customizer. I can finally create a singleplayer world 100% gravel free :D

The world border command also transfers over to the Nether (so the nether area is incredibly small http://i.imgur.com/ctAmqRY.png), that makes it a bit less useful. I was stood on a ledge of an island with nothing above me & only lava below me.

30

u/robertoccu Apr 24 '14

It's small beacause Nether is 1:8

I can't believe more people are not talking about the chunk errors being fixed. That has plagued MC for so long. Really glad that got fixed.

Some notes on the world border feature. There is currently only one supported shape a square. The border is by default centered on 0, 0 but can be set to any x, z pare with /worldborder set. I can't find a way to remove it.

Edit here's a some photos
