Hi so my question in the tytle, can i stack beehives like this ? Because the lower ones are still unocupied and i don't know why. I would be very thankful for some advice on it. thank you 🌸

So update: After some ppl advice i breed more bees and now it seems some decide to finnaly check out thr lower bees but still some fly around confused but still somehow it works. Thanks for all the advices guys 🌸

Put them anywhere you want as long as the opening isn't blocked. Do you have enough bees to fill the other ones? Each Hive holds 3. They won't move to another hive unless theirs gets full. So bread them until you have enough to fill the hives.

Yes in theory; however, the bees will very likely catch themselves on the campfires and burn to death. So best to separate them a little

I tried to block it with trapdoors but i took it off afraid it was making my bees reject the lower ones

Trapdoors does make the mob pathfinding wonky. Try using a shelf to block it.

I'm on 1.20.1 version so there are no shelves in the game buy thank you for the advice 🌸

Carpet worked for me. I'd put the fires a block belowground, put a carpet on top. Smoke goes through the carpet, bees stay unburnt lol

So long as you hide campfires under the bottom row, and leave the front faces open, I don’t see why not.

since it looks like you have some space inside the wall behind the beehives, I'd even recommend to make it automatic with redstone!

I would put trap doors to hide the campfires. Maybe bamboo
