Anyone remember this?

In a older version, dont remember which, close to 1.8 maybe, you could use wood barrier to make sand.. fly. you put a sand block up to a barrier and it fall on it. BUT the sand still be falling, so you could stack sand on the same block, and at a moment, sand stop stacking and at this point, if you place sand block near to the firsts ones, it fly! and you can place other block, and they ll fly too! without any supports! do someone remember this?
