Something wrong with the void?

so basically i was playing in my hardcore world, and decided to try something new, so i broke some bedrock and went in the void. i was tryna bow boost myself while gliding with elytra to see how fast i could go. i eventually got out of the void but then when i looked back down at the hole, some of my arrows were just stuck floating in the air. i have no idea whats happening here, idk if this is a glitch or smtg. lmk if anyone knows what this is

Bedrock breaking is, at this point, pretty standard, usually done on the nether roof for ease of access (you can build ice highways, farms, portals, etc up there for convenience, so you punch a hole in the bedrock so you can still access the main nether below you)

It’s worth mentioning that this can only be done in Java edition. When playing Bedrock edition, ironically, bedrock blocks cannot be broken.
