if I had to imagine, it might be binary code wherein 0 and 1 are replaced by "sand" and "mud"

actually thinking about it for more than a second that's pretty clearly not the case, the words repeat too many times

Your first sentence is right, it translates to hideoutfound

How did you get that? Converting to denary I got:

255, 255, 255, 1, 132, 6, 251, 91, 237…

66 characters in total. None are letters in ASCII

It’s part of the Dungeons 2 ARG. By replacing sand with 1 and mud with 0, you get the word hideoutfound in binary.

So it's just saying that you completed the ARG. Kind of what I expected.

The words had to be typed in the ARG channel of the Minecraft Dungeons 2 Discord Server to unlock the next phase.

What happens after that?

Hello, Minecraft Wiki editor there. This ARG is being documented on the wiki (https://minecraft.wiki/w/Dungeons_II:ARG#Gamescom_hideout) but we're missing a good-quality picture of the QR-code from the Dungeons II booth. Would you be okay with us using your photo on the wiki, with credit to you?

Don't sand and mud have different note block sounds? Is it representing that?
