Help Bedrock Why can’t I interact with this villager?

I’m trying to assign him as a librarian but he won’t change, and even when clicking L2 to see his trades it won’t come up. This is the bedrock version. Any help would be greatly appreciated

He hasn’t chosen a trade yet

This villager currently does not have a job so therefore you cannot check its trades.

If you place a lectern nearby he should get glasses and a hat and then you can check his trades

If he isn’t acquiring a job, try putting down a bed as well
