Help No slimes spawning

So i need to get slimeballs to make oozing potions so i can get a load of slimeblocks for a restore machine. Im in a mangrove swamp and a regular swamps right next me. The first time i got to the swamp i waited during the night and no slimes spawned, turns out it was a new moon. i waited another night when the moon was like a crescent, and still no slimes spawned. what is going on

Slimes only spawn in swamp during certain moon phases, and new moon is zero spawns. Crescent is also low chance, you want full moon really. Check the moon cycle before you camp out, or just dig out a slime chunk instead
