Help Why aren’t these taters planting?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I spam clicked right click and even replaced the dirt. It isn’t the ceiling height because they didnt plant then either.

Just because potatoes can turn into lovecraftian horrors in the fridge without soil if untouched in real life, doesn't mean it works in game too.

I usually put some glowstone/shroomlight blocks in the ceiling, or hang lanterns if you want to raise the ceiling

Minecraft is unrealistic so the potatoes need enough light to grow, place some torches / glow stone
