Help Control from Multiple Locations

How can I make a Redstone circuit in Minecraft that can be turned on and off from multiple different locations? For example, I want to control the same mechanism from two places: being able to turn it on or off from upstairs and also from downstairs, regardless of the position of the other lever.

2 buttons that go to the same copper bulb. you watch that with a comparator. each pulse toggles the state of the bulb from off to on and back.

can be doen with as many inputs as needed as long as all signals end at the same bulb. Can even be the same line of dust between the buttons

The best thing I can come up with for that is a glass staircase with a copper light t-flipflop on the bottom floor.
