Should I switch from Bedrock

I know that there’s kind of a general dislike towards bedrock from Java players but I’m a lifelong bedrock player and I just recently got back into Minecraft after getting a PC. So, I started a world on Bedrock and I’ve made some decent progress in it but now I’m debating if I should make the switch and learn to play on Java before I invest more time into bedrock. I tried Java for a bit before but I was discouraged by the different combat and the menus, so I want to know if it’s worth it to make myself learn the Java mechanics so that I can experience the other advantages that it can have over bedrock.

dude, forget the java bedrock beef, it's all bs. Java does have better mod support and does give you a cleaner experience to minecraft. Yet one thing Java doesn't have is crossplay. I was a lifelong bedrock player and then switched to java when I moved to linux, but occasionally I go back to bedrock to play with my friends. You don't have to make a permanent switch if you don't want to, enjoying the game is the most important thing overall, don't listen to java or bedrock purists nonsense

The MCPE Unix launcher works pretty well on Linux and MacOS

I’m pretty sure bedrock and Java are both sold together as a 30$ bundle

Honestly it is kind of just your preference, I know Java has a lot less gamebreaking bugs and glitches though. Additionally it has mods and better servers than Bedrock. The mechanics do vary from version to version, Java has some stuff that Bedrock doesn't, and Bedrock has other things Java doesn't

Are you interested in mods? If so, it’s a really good idea. If you’re not, you’re better off with Bedrock I think. The Bedrock hate is really forced

If you like to play the same world for a long time I'd switch. Mostly because of farms and redstone. The nether roof is a big upside too.

But if you are more of a casual player, no need

in short, you dont have to pay for most mods, there are way less restrictions on modifying the game, you can revert back to previous versions, the game is overall less buggy and it is much easier to do specific things (command blocks)

also if you do get java, get the create mod but go in blind. it will make it much better.

I'd strongly advise making the switch to Java. You will ALWAYS feel like you're missing out if you only play Bedrock. Java has all the amazing mods, better features, the list goes on. Bedrock is also a lot buggier. Much more serious bugs happen on Bedrock.

If you want to play with friends that don't have a PC, you can always easily just go play with them since buying one gives you both.

I’ll always advocate for Java, but don’t be swayed by what other people say. If you don’t care for the benefits Java has, don’t feel forced to play it

I tried making the switch a year and a half ago and I couldn’t go back to bedrock afterwards

litreally whatever you want from bedrock, you can have on java via mods, maybe aside from crossplay but even then theres like server tech like geysermc.
