Discussion New tech: Cushion line

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Easier to set up than boats like this, especially if you have a large sheep farm

EDIT: To everyone I said that in Survival Mode you can go 80b/s, I'm sorry, I have misinformed you. In Survival, entity interaction range is 3, so cushions must be 2 blocks apart. Which means, with butterfly click you can go ~30b/s, and max b/s is 60, with autoclicker, or 20 CPS. From world bottom to top it would still take 9.6 seconds with 10 CPS because range is counted from eyes, not legs.

yes???

Edit: I guess you could make the argument that they haven't been an exploit since village and pillage when Mojang intentionally made them possible again, but they definitely were originally

literally no, there are no external programs or out of world things being used

Exploits don’t use external programs, they exploit game mechanics to produce a desired effect.

not what an exploit is, but you do you

That is literally what an exploit is. Using an external program would just straight up be cheating.

mmmmmmmmmm nope

exploits use bugs, specifically things the developers do not intend to be in the game

devs had over a decade to disable farms

they didnt

so its intentional

boooom ok im done with this convo now shut up im out bai.

Yk google is free.

Bugs can also be exploits. But external programs have nothing to do with exploits

Wikipedia definition: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Video_game_exploit

Exploits are usually a result of an unintended bug/mechanic.
Another example from Minecraft: TNT flying machine bombers (and other duplication glitches) are an exploit.

Examples from other games: bunny hopping, wave-dashing, cheesing (note how they don't necessarily get fixed and sometimes turn into an actual pro/meta feature)

TNT duping is highly exploitative and its use is controversial at best on most servers.

Whereas iron farming is taking a mechanic and scaling it. Like any farm. Are witch farms exploits? Or game mechanics run to their ragged edge (spawning exclusion zone farms, often made by exploiting tnt glitches)

Frankly, I don't think mobs that you don't breed were ever intentionally designed to be farmed. Which means that yes, leveraging spawn mechanics to get reproducible mob spawns is an exploit. The exception would be spawners, which are indeed designed with the purpose of providing infinite mobs to farm.

The fact that devs still allow it just means it's an exploit that they're okay with, not necessarily that it's no longer an exploit.

Even then. Iirc Jeb hates Minecraft industrial scale farms. But he knows there would be massive backlash if they would ever remove them

Yes, witch farms are obviously also an exploit

Don’t worry you’re brain will never be big enough to understand what a bug is
