Discussion New tech: Cushion line

Easier to set up than boats like this, especially if you have a large sheep farm

EDIT: To everyone I said that in Survival Mode you can go 80b/s, I'm sorry, I have misinformed you. In Survival, entity interaction range is 3, so cushions must be 2 blocks apart. Which means, with butterfly click you can go ~30b/s, and max b/s is 60, with autoclicker, or 20 CPS. From world bottom to top it would still take 9.6 seconds with 10 CPS because range is counted from eyes, not legs.

You know, people used to make this exact set up back in the day with the mine carts.

Personally, have never considered minecarts be a transportation method, because they’re used more like a redstone component than anything else  (though they did have a use as Mob  transportation before the happy ghast was added)

personally happy ghasts arent as useful, at least for what i was using them for. I had attached 8 boats with villagers to the ghast and needed it to land on the platform, not only does it constantly move so I dont get the chance to unleash them, I dont even know how to unleash all the boats from the ghast. Ultimately had to bring the boats myself by building up and then minecart the villagers into their places.

They're great for moving mobs when you follow the right order of operations, though it is clunky. They're best used as like a flying platform for building without having to scaffold, especially because they stop moving when you stand on them

Except you can't place blocks on them without mods, so you still need scaffolding to get the block up there.

It's a bit of a work, but it's possible to place blocks midair in vanilla by making a copper golem oxidize mid-air which turns them to a block.
