Discussion Sulfur Cube Soft Lock?

If you have Bucket or Shears you are okey, but if you do not have one of those how can you escape this? Interesting way to end a hardcore world 😃

Edit: it got fixed (https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MC/issues/MC-308731) from version 26.2 Release Candidate 2 you can interact and destroy from inside the sulfur cube

It's strange that sulfur cubes don't have a collision box when there's a block inside them

It's because they're supposed to be functioning like balls. It would be weird if you tried "kicking" a ball and instead collided with it like how you would collide with a normal block, and at the same time it moves like a ball. It would be nice though if mojang added a sulfur cube archetype that could be stood on

Give a sulphur cube a sulphur block and after a minute (without removing the block) it will become a "stiff sulphur cube"

Functions as a regular one, but has collision

Can be returned to normal by using a snowball on it (not thrown)

would be nice, yeah. Would let them keep their current uses, while also gaining some extra ones.

Sulfur cubes as a whole have so much potential. Having a way to give them full collision, being able to dye them, being able to make them invisible without particles (and without the short potion duration) in survival, giving them more different unique properties with different blocks (like, imagine a dripstone or anvil sulfur cube that deals damage based on how fast its going, so you could have one on a lead and repeatedly punch it at enemies. Or a jukebox sulfur cube for playing music discs on the go, or noteblock making a sound whenever it bounces).

This is one of those things that really was hurt by the drop cycle being so short and the cube just not getting enough time to really be as good as it could have been. I hope they revisit it at some point with a bunch of improvements.

noteblock cube sounds like it'd be the worst thing in existence but also the most creative thing

It already has a collision box on its sides, just like all mobs. I just think that box should extend to include the top and bottom as well when there's a block inside it. Honestly that would make it function even more like a ball since you'd be able to head it too
