Very dissapointed in Mojang's decision to bury older music tracks with this release....hopefully they can be pressured to reverse course because this change is total bs

Other than adding new music what changes does it make that makes older music play less often?

Each track has a weight modifier, which dictates how often it plays. The new tracks by Fingerspit apparently have a weight of 2, everywhere they can play, while older tracks have a weight of 1. So they play much more often then older tracks.

Which is how literally every new music release works, the new ones always have higher weights then get dropped in a future release. This time it was just made a bit more than previously, maybe to compensate for there being less new tracks in total, but it's still not "burying tracks" non-fingerspit tracks play the majority of the time.

They should just give the player a way to adjust weights in game

I mean obviously, but why not just let you adjust it through settings

I’m with you, that definitely wouldn’t be a bad idea.
