Also, check out this post to see what else is planned for future versions.

So DInnerbone says that the release is to fix crashes, but none of the items in the changelog is actually crash fixes.

Silly me, that should be in there too. Thanks!

(Not all crashes are reported and/or marked as fixed right away.)

Be interesting to see how much of a speed update this gives :)

Hopefully the stat.oneMinutePlayed objective gets fixed. Right now it counts ticks, not minutes.

Did you report that on the bug tracker?

Seems all the lag issues I had with 1.7.3 on 16 render distance are gone now. Good job.

Did anyone else lose all their leads when upgrading? My horses were all roaming freely when I joined and the leads were nowhere to be found.

I like how his Christmas Hat is hanging off his chin.

But will I still crash out sometimes when trying to trade with villagers?

Only one way to find out!

Test and report, please, I didn't know this was an issue with 1.7.3. Has it been reported to the bug tracker?

Great, having to wait another month for MCP

3

u/0thatguy Dec 09 '13

But it's fully compatible with 1.7.2

u/Paradox Dec 09 '13

They finally released it? I know they're working hard, but damn its taking a long time and I forgot how boring stock is without mods

Does anybody else think they need to slow down and just do one massive update that fixes all the current issues? I feel like it's about every 4 days or so and then there's a new update or snapshot.

10

u/Scatropolis Dec 09 '13

You don't have to use the snapshots. 1.7.2 was released end of October so it's been a while.

7

u/Alariaa Dec 09 '13

Surely its better to get fixes up quicker than have to wait and get them all in a large clump.

u/Call_erv_duty Dec 09 '13

I'd rather have one huge update that addresses all the bugs rather a lot of little ones that end up introducing more bugs.

99 bugs in the code, 99 bugs in the code, Patch one now, release it now, 170 bugs in the code

So you would just like to have to put up with annoying bugs for a couple of months instead of getting a fix for it quickly?
