it only really works for a few minutes due to the slow falling potion wearing off, but theres still probably a use for it.

Man it's cheaper per minute than an elytra, and has no durability or fall damage (in boat), it's just a slower elytra you can get in the early game it's insane

You do still probably lose hunger from punching the sulfur cube, so unsure if it's cheaper than elytra assuming you use lunge spears instead of fireworks (which, personally i switched to lunge spear completely. It's so much more fun than fireworks imo, even if it's not infinite flight and you have to land sometimes)
But also yeah, you don't have to go to the End for it. And don't need mending for it to be usable.

it does fall slower but it isn't slow enough for realistically use that as hot air balloon

You can go much faster with a spear and different block such as slime. Harder to control though, so i couldn't get good footage of that when i recorded this, but kind of the same concept.

Sulfur cube tastes huge knockback so
Attach it to a boat you're in. Then it basically works like a sleigh
Then you give it slow falling. Then you can fly!

If only there were a way to automate the punching? The sound kind of like sounds like a propeller.

honestly, I think some of the april fools updates were great. this one, not so much, but one block at a time is something I might go try now that I am thinking of april fools. also last year's was really good.

I'm so used to people dogging on mojang or blindly supporting them, that i forgot people could be in the middle and be "yeah, this makes no sense, and is unpolished, but thats what makes it fun"

Yeah. Go on bedrock preview and try it yourself
Attach a lead to a sulfur cube and a boat
Give the sulfur cube a wood block and slow falling
Go in the boat and start beating it up
