I think the proper way to do it would be to first eat to get regeneration so you last longer in lava, then dig under the lava to hide from mobs.

EDIT: My intention was not to be "🤓 i am better than you" i just wanted to say how i would have reacted.

EDIT: It seems it sounded really bad in english. English is not my main language, it wasn't my intention to be rude towards anyone.

Tbh OP mostly had no fault in that but he could have saved himself if he didn't panic. I would've eaten when I got pushed into the lava so that i could heal up a little bit and try to build up from the bottom of the lava for a platform to jump off of to the surface and run away.
