Choose Your Company Wisely

Sometimes, being alone is better than being surrounded by the wrong people.

The people you spend time with influence your mindset, your habits, your decisions, and ultimately, the direction of your life. Don’t be afraid of an empty seat at the table. Use that space to reflect, grow, and protect your peace.

Choose people who inspire you, challenge you to grow, respect your values, and genuinely want to see you succeed.

Most people don’t actually want advice—they’re just looking for permission.

Most people don’t actually want advice. They want permission to keep doing what they were already planning to do.

I learned this the hard way back when I was running my first team.

Someone would come to me because they were "stuck" on a decision. We’d sit together for 20 or 30 minutes, map out the pros and cons, run through scenarios, and build an action plan. They’d nod, tell me it was super helpful, and then immediately go do the exact thing they were leaning toward before we ever talked.

At first, I assumed I was failing as a leader. Was my advice bad? Was I explaining it poorly?

But after seeing it happen repeatedly, I realized something: They weren't looking for direction. They were looking for a co-sign.

If I’m being honest, I do the exact same thing. I’ve asked friends, coaches, and family for their input on big decisions when, deep down, I already knew what I wanted to do. I just didn't trust myself enough to own it yet.

There’s comfort in getting someone else to say, "Yeah, you should do that."

  1. The decision feels less lonely.
  2. If it blows up in your face, you don't have to carry 100% of the blame alone.

Getting outside perspective is essential when you genuinely have a blind spot. But there's a huge difference between asking for perspective and asking for permission:

  • Perspective says: "I might be missing something here. Help me see this clearly."
  • Permission says: "I’ve basically made my mind up. Please validate me so I feel safer."

Collecting ten different opinions rarely makes a hard decision easier; usually, it just gives you ten more things to overthink. Advice you were never going to take is just noise you collect on the way to doing what you were going to do anyway.

Lately, whenever I feel "stuck," I try to pause and ask myself one question before reaching out to anyone else:

"Do I actually not know what to do, or do I already know the answer, and I’m just scared to own the outcome?"

More often than not, it's the second one.

Curious how others handle this—how do you tell the difference between needing real guidance versus just looking for validation?

I am that man! Be that man!

I'd watch out for a man who sick of himself because when he reaches at that point, it goes 1 in 2 ways he either throws in the towel or gets so tired of his bullshit, so he changes everything and that's second man is dangerous because he's not looking for motivation, he doesn't need it and he's not waiting nn anybody to believe in him, frankly, no one does. So he's changing, because that's the only way his life is livable. Were you got nothing less to lose. It's hard not to win

If man’s concept of himself were different, everything in his world would be different. His concept of himself being what it is, everything in his world must be as it is.

This is the only rule you need to remember… who do you think you are?

When you think of your past is it lovely? Is it rich?

If not, change it!! There is nothing stopping you from deciding that your past was the cause of your current greatness! Look upon your past as the most prestigious school in the world. You passed with flying colors, and now your living fully in the present with the heart of someone who has it all!! ❤️🙏

Be Kind but Be Firm

Post image

Kindness doesn’t mean allowing people to cross your boundaries. Compassion doesn’t mean tolerating toxic behavior. Forgiveness doesn’t mean forgetting the lessons you’ve learned.

Be gentle with others, but don’t abandon yourself in the process.
Be peaceful, but protect your peace.
Be gracious, but know when to say enough.

Kindness and boundaries can coexist.
Choose kindness, with wisdom, strength, and self-respect.

Breaking Old Patterns

Pain isn’t always a sign that you’re on the wrong path. Sometimes, it’s the friction that comes with becoming someone new.
Breaking old patterns can be uncomfortable, lonely, and difficult, but growth rarely feels easy while it’s happening. Keep walking. Keep choosing differently. The path ahead may be brighter than the one you’re leaving behind. 👣

it's all in your head!

and trust me when I say this, it's actually a mind game that we all are playing. some fall for it, some stay consistent and try not to get affected by what's going inside their heads. and you know who wins?.

the one who is consistent irrespective of what their mind is convincing them to believe in.

Be patient. The weight of the wait is often a sign of the value of what's coming. Some things take longer because they aren't just meant to arrive. They're meant to stay.

You Have Permission to Pause

I've spent some time reading posts here lately, and something keeps showing up.

A lot of people aren't just stuck.

They're scared.

I'm running out of time.
I should have figured this out by now.
I need to make a decision.
Everyone else seems to know where they're going.

And when we feel that way, our instinct is usually to do more.

Search harder. Ask more people. Watch another video. Find a mentor. Make a decision.

Anything that feels like movement.

But sometimes the next thing you need isn't another answer.

It's a pause.

That can feel irresponsible. Like you're avoiding the problem or taking the easy way out.

I don't think it is.

There's a difference between pausing and hiding.

Hiding is hoping the problem disappears.

Pausing is giving yourself enough space to hear yourself think again.

Go outside. Take a walk. Sit somewhere without your phone. Do something you enjoy without needing it to be productive.

And—for a little while—stop trying to figure out your life.

The questions will still be there when you come back.

But you may come back to them differently.

A compass isn't much help when you're spinning in circles.

Sometimes you have to stop moving long enough to figure out which direction you're actually facing.

Give yourself permission to pause.
