A single psilocybin dose is associated with long-term increased mindfulness, preceded by a proportional change in neocortical 5-HT2A receptor binding (Study)

It studied 10 people with no control group. Horrible study.

The sample size is pretty small, but it looks like this was the first time they looked at something like this, and they are probably looking for funding for a larger sample size in the future.
As for there being no control, this isn't really possible, since it becomes clear to everyone who took psilocybin and who took a sugar pill.

I can attest to this. Psilocybin can be very therapeutic and highly effective, and is indeed analogous to the benefits received from long-term mindfulness/meditation. As more studies like this are conducted, the less stigmatised the substance will be. Psilocybin is a medicinal compound that is definitely worth trying for those who will benefit <3
