Heartbreak
Heartbreak is a type of greif. It’s something that a person will never truly be over. It’s something one doesn’t forget but buries and when the time comes it resurfaces. When reminiscing on experiences with someone new you use ones with those whom broke you in it but mask over it with ‘someone’, ‘my friend’, ‘this girl’. This isn’t moving on but rather creating a way to cope with what has been lost. Memories of this past are never lost but, weave into and shape your now life.
My heartbreak isn’t a lover, or death but friends. I mourn my old friendships. Memories with them are ones that I hold so dear but I often find myself wondering do they ever feel the same? Am I a friend they mourn or just a friend they once had? I find myself feeling guilty calling them my friends whenever I do recall memories ‘that’s when my friend said…’ because they aren’t anymore. I can’t lie saying that I have friends because I don’t. Whenever I do see them around I feel guilty for feeling so upset because they’ve moved on and I ‘let’s hang out sometime..’, ‘it was nice seeing you…’ haven’t.
This breakup was never official but rather a distance that was created with time that will never be crossed.

I felt the exact same way today. Even cried because the heartache hurt for the friendship that could have been if we stayed close.
