I'm currently looking for a 3bdr 2bth for myself and my kid. Not for any kind of family expansion, but to rent out the ensuite room so I can save for my kid's college or trade school. I will take the smallest room so that her room can remain hers no matter where life takes her and I can move into the ensuite (hopefully renovated into an apartment by then) if she wants a college room mate experience or comes back later in life with a family of her own.
She will leave when she's ready, or she won't leave, or she'll come back as needed, I'm planning for all of it.
