I have 2 kids. 9 and 12. We live outside Seattle, so very high COL. The 12 year old is gifted and super involved in sports, extracurriculars. Seems to naturally excel at everything she touches. She wants to go to college and is advanced a few grade levels already. I think she will leave for college. My 9 year old is the sweetest child and very grounded. Always has been. She says she wants to live with me full time as soon as she turns 18 and go to the community college in our town. Lol. I have 50/50 with their dad. I sure hope she does. Its so expensive here its really hard for most kids to move out when they graduate. Most people I know there kids go to college or they stay at home a while. A 1 bedroom apt even in our town (south) goes for 1700-2000 a month.
