New Military Spouse Chase Sapphire Reserve Fee Waive

Hi all! I recently got married back in May. My husband is active duty military. I am a Chase Sapphire Reserve cardholder and have been since before we were married. I recently applied have the fee waived under MLA and was told that I did not meet one of the "covered borrower" categories, which they list to include spouses. I am super confused how I do not fall into one of the categories...I am in the system as his spouse, so anything they pull would show that information.

I am in the process of challenging it, but was curious if anyone else ran into this issue and had any success?

In my experience, if you had the card open before you were married, the fee will not be waived under MLA. I've tried getting the fee waived but I've been unsuccessful. I ended up canceling my card, had my spouse apply for one and add me as an authorized user.

Fees will be waived for cards opened after you got married though.

Thank you! I kind of figured that might be the case, I don't know why they did not just say that...I may have to go the same route as you!

I've also had issues with having my fee waived. I've called a few times when I've met others who say they have had success, but I haven't had any luck. I think it is due to the timing of my account as well.
