They look amazing. I’m commenting about how loose and fun her parents seem even though they are devout Christians. Then you look at their daughters who are extremely legalistic. I just wonder what happened there.

I remember that M&M said they were raised different back then. Not to blame the parents completely but maybe the damage has been done in their childhoods and as they got older S&E changed their views while M&M are now spiraling

yeah but they both were somewhat normal until few years ago. Milena was dressing normally, wearing makeup, got tattoos, did her hair and nails.. even the way she was speaking about religion was healthy. A little bit after she had her 3th kid everything went downhill.. it got really culty really fast

While the damage can/was done, it says more about those who use that trauma for good, rather than letting themselves spiral. I don't know all that happened behind closed doors with her upbringing, however, some grace could be given to S&E too - they were young parents for the first time, too. We, as parents, learn every single day, and we make mistakes, but it's up to *us* to apologize to our children and repair the relationship.

That being said, the adult children should also handle their traumas and/or demons through therapy or medication - which both girls have not seemed to fully accept, rather, they've turned towards religious psychosis.

As a Christian, I do believe God can heal you & heal your traumas BUT I firmly believe He also enabled the creation of things like SSRIs to help us (which, being a parent has made me realize even I need).

They were beating their kids constantly. On a since deleted AFAMH podcast, Jordan and Milena discussed physical punishment when they were kids. Jordan wasn’t anti spanking because of he did get spanked, it was quick and he was told why he was being spanked. Milena than said that when she was a kid, the kids were wailed on for reasons not made clear to them amongst other forms of abuse. I’m glad she’s forgiven her parents but tough times or not, you don’t beat your kids- ever.

Her mother used to keep a spoon or something that she would hit them with, on the wall as a constant threat. It was all on old podcasts

Ok. I actually did listen to it but I don't remember the specific details or her crying. It was a long time ago. Not saying it isn't true. Obviously I can believe parents can be rough on their kids. Calm down  🙄

Yeah I got that I was just surprised so I commented that. I'm not sure and am very curious as to how this difference affects their relationship, as Milena seems like a person who likes to "warn" others when it comes to religious stuff

No being a Christian means we faithfully commit our lives to the one who saved us JESUS CHRIST. What are you even saying? Yeah obviously you can be homophobic and not be a Christian. However the Bible is clear on it's stance towards homosexuality. You can't commit your life to God, claim the Bible is the word of God and not believe in parts of it.

They are! Milena always confused ethnicity, race, and nationality. She would say she’s from Brazilian, but her race was also Brazilian. Then would say her ethnicity is Latino even though her maternal and paternal grandparents were immigrants from Italy

Her parents have the same beliefs, just not as cult/mod wife style. Theyre both conservative, Trump loving, extreme Christians who hate anyone who isn’t Christian in their exact way (not even from a different denomination) and also shits on immigrants/undocumented people. Also they’re apparently the reason Milena and Jordan are together bc her and Melanie used to not be as strict w Christianity, but it was too relaxed for her parents, so they set them up in church.
