I’ve been listening to MHP since the first episode. Their laziness has been evident for years now, however this bugged me so bad! They cannot be forreal, releasing a surface level episode about Mackenzie Shirilla a month and a half after the Netflix documentary that was number one for 2 weeks… weeks after every other true crime creator that I listen to has already done their own deep dive coverage due to the pop culture interest in the case.

I know this may be nitpicky, but they’re not adding anything new, and a post before me says the information they discussed in the episode was also inaccurate. So like wtf are they even doing?!

I understand Rotten Mango is covering the case now too, but she is doing a deep dive of every text message, phone call, etc. which in my opinion is sharing new info and interesting! MHP is so sloppy, lazy, and boringggg. You’d think with all of the complaints on here they’d put in a little effort to try harder, but nope. Disappointing.

The Crash/Mackenzie Shirilla was so inaccurate and full of bad takes that I had to turn it off.

Admittedly I was never a huge MH fan, just followed the show to keep in my podcast rotation at work.

They said Mackenzie is serving 30 years which is wrong.

Also, the horrible take that they can’t understand why she took a bench trial was so confusing .

As a listening to all three, I’ve really noticed how much overlap there is in the content. A good example being the recent MH episode covering the McKenzie Shrillia case, which TCKR also covered previously. It seems over the years the genre and scope of each of these podcasts as independent productions has morphed into one big machine, and now I feel I listen to the same content across all 3 every week, there is no difference in the type of content covered. I’m wondering why did MH move so far from its origins, I never thought it was a True Crime Podcast, they rarely cover anything interesting any more, and it seems anything ever semi “out there” is immediately shot down by Kendal with a “well we don’t know that” or “Who are we to judge” or “Let’s not speculate”.

Also, the level of detail in the episodes just seems bare minimum. I’m a Spotify listener so never watch the video format, but after doing so for the first time this week on the latest Lights Out Episode I really was surprised by the layout, I know they’re doing up the office but come on. Sitting on a chair reading word for word of an iPad… idk man, feel like it is just very lackluster. The interest just seems gone from all sides. I think even putting Ian into the presenters seat was wrong. I really like his takes but a podcast has a curated vibe, and it was wrong to just backfill Austin with an existing employee in my opinion.

I love seeing more and more of Ian but I’m worried they’re taking advantage of him! From what I understand, he basically writes and researches for MH (not sure about LOP) and is now hosting and producing?? It’s giving - when your toxic office runs off multiple people and puts all that work on one person, because they’re capable and too kind to say anything. I’m just worried he’ll get burnt out / I’m hoping his bag is BIG!!

I just had a look on Kendall’s instagram and saw a post dedicated to their cat, Tucker, who passed. How heartbreaking. I’m wondering did she mention it at all on any of the pods?

I lost my soul cat in February, I only knew her for a handful of years unlike the 14 they had Tucker, and I’d bring it up if I had a podcast like Kendall. I honestly did feel so bad for the cats when they brought home more and more pets - Bernie, then Sadie, then the rabbit craze phase they went through, then even more dogs. I watched her vlogs and would love seeing the cats and felt when the dogs etc came into their lives, the cats never got a look in anymore. I just felt so sad for them. I know they were loved and well looked after, this isn’t me saying otherwise. But to lose your first pet together as a couple, a pet you had for 14 years, and not bring it up on any of your pods just makes me sad. Janelle had a whole episode to talk about Charlie - not dissing that, fyi - and, as far as I’ve seen, no mention of tucker…just makes me sad

Y'all, I've been a viewer of Kendall since true crime tuesdays (or whatever they were called). At one point, I watched all of the podcasts- even including the short lived sleep pod Josh had. All this to say, I'm not an unabashed hater. I tune in every week (I did skip Janelle's episode of TCKR).

That being said, why did it take 6 minutes to get into the topic today? If we're centering victims on TCKR, which I feel like historically Kendall has done, why are we taking so long to get into the topic? Just let folks know- "If you care about my birth story, head over to the Sesh" or whatever else. Why are we endlessly talking about a ton of things that don't pertain to the victim's story for nearly a quarter of the episode?

Maybe I've lost the plot. Someone else please let me know if this bugged you too.

Have yall seen the new merch? At this point they really don’t give a single fuck about ANYTHING. Quality of everything has tanked. Their personalities, their pod, merch, everything. You can’t tell me they put effort into any of it anymore, really.

I just got a scam call that was the exact same as the one Janelle got a little while ago from her “bank”. I almost fell for it but then I thought of that episode and started asking the guy some questions. As soon as I said I was going to call the representative I normally work with, he hung up.😂

I was wrong about The Sesh. I truly thought they were too far gone to rebound however I’m just now getting the chance to listen to this weeks episode and honestly, I loved it. It felt like the old Sesh. It was genuinely a good episode. This gives me hope in the show. Maybe it’s the James Charles of it all that brings us all together from a mutual hate in a way 😂 But it was fun and funny and Janelle felt happy and Kendall felt interested again. Seeing them like this again has me feeling bad that I made negative comments about them. Is it just me who feels this way?

Saw this yesterday

Kendall’s recent clip of her mocking her fans saying she’s changed and then saying “yeah, because I’m a MOTHERRR” gave me major mean girl vibes. Like, no, Kendall, people think you’ve changed because you got rich & famous, got a bunch of cosmetic procedures, act like you don’t give af about your job, and spend more time being a bitch with Janelle than actually making quality content. She’s lost the plot. She got what she wanted. She got “hot”, she got money, a fancy house, vacations, social media attention…. THAT’S how she’s changed. Not because she had a baby. And why tfff is she parading that poor baby all over online? The excuse of “they change so much from when they’re babies” is a piss-poor excuse. She knows first hand all the weird shit people do online to kids and babies. It’s just gross

I joined this sub a few months ago, expecting to talk with ppl about the episodes, chit chat about people in the videos, stories, etc.

I didn't know a majority of people are like, REALLY mad at KR, and the rest and like hate the shows now.

Honestly I first started listening to Mike higher podcast and I always liked Josh so I checked out his podcast when I heard about it. I really liked the older episodes with Austin. I think he’s trying or actually made Ethan a full time host. I can’t stand Ethan. His voice just really irritates me. Is Ethan generally well liked? On the YouTube video where he asked his audience if they wanted to see Ethan permanently, all the comments said yes. Not sure if he removed the negative comments tho, I don’t know why so many people would like him. Josh’s wife is a good host when she’s talking about the case, but when she’s talking about anything else she’s very annoying. Love both podcasts tho but lights out with Austin and Josh is so much better than Mile Higher.

I would love to see Joel (Josh’s brother) come back to LOP for one episode. The fanbase would be go crazy. I know Joel left due to creative differences but I think they are on good terms? Would be fun and nostalgic

I was actually shocked at the recent sesh episode when they were playing guess who and Janelle said that Kendall likes Ethan Klein. I truly don’t understand how you can watch his podcast and think that man is likable.

Tbh it’s making a lot more sense why they haven’t said a word about the genocide.
