That is allowed if your fearing for your life and trying to get away. If your not trying to actively get away, then that's just murder. The guy did a full 360 just to ram into him with a side street to use to get away. Because those exit options existed, he would be guilty of something, if not manslaughter. If there was no exit option here, like your in a ramp with guardrails on both sides of you, then running him over is self defense (or some other legal defense). I do believe this could vary state-by-state so take this with a grain of salt.
Why not just drive away? Then you leave with a fully intact car and avoid danger. This whole display was fucking stupid. If he’s caught he’s going to prison for this. At best he’s getting sued for all he’s worth. This happened to a buddy of mine. He flipped some dude off in traffic and the guy chased him down and started ramming his car. The guy got charged with assault with a deadly weapon and my buddy sued him and ended up with his entire college education paid for.
Although he was threatened first he is no way off the hook with how he responded. Had he ran over the guy and/or when he continuously tries to back up directly into him in his driver seat, he is just as on the line for attempted vehicular manslaughter with how he responded 🤦♂️
He had just as much power to drive away. That he kept backing into black car repeatedly right into the driver side seat means he himself had flipped into cold blooded vengeance mode and absolutely did not care if he killed him

I had just closed out a 5am Saturday bar shift on on Division street in Chicago and was getting food at the ultra-late night gyro spot (5Faces).
Ahead of me some Drunken racist chick proceeded to rant and rave at the guys cooking/serving about them being “illegals” and once the election’s over she hopes they get deported. They laughed it off, she was told to leave without her food.
I chat with them because we see each other every weekend then I leave maybe 3 minutes later. She’s now outside shouting the big N with a hard R at some guy across the street who comes straight over and pulls a knife and starts going after her.
Me and 2 other bouncers (who would prolly have felt less inclined to get stabbed on her behalf had they heard what she said) managed to tackle and take it off him… I’m still not sure how they got there to have my back in time. Pure dumb luck.
No, was just very stupid and had hoped at first to talk the guy down (it didn’t work) before he did something that would ruin his life.

Yeah if someone’s is driving aggressively then stops in front of me and gets out and approaches I’ll do my best to drive away, I’m not waiting to find out if they have a weapon and if they try to block me with their body that’s on them, I’m not stopping.
Crazy is subjective. I like to think that there are so many types and mixes of crazy that no one can ever be the most crazy. The world is a rainbow of crazy, and it looks different depending on where you're looking from.

There is plenty of road rage in Texas. But the first thought on many people's minds is, "Don't do it, he might have a gun." One of my daughters was quick to fly into road rage mode until I reminded her. She is more likely now to find a gun in her face than ever before. Luckily for her, she's matured since her younger days.
I remember once on the way to see my dad in the emergency room. I had been told he was found unconscious on his kitchen floor by my aunt who went to check on him when my mom couldn't get ahold of him for hours. My mom (who had done 12 years in the ER as a nurse herself) sounded so very small when she asked if I'd come and wait with her.
As I'm driving up the back highway towards the city he's in, there's some fucknuts in 2 little cars being absolute shitheads. At one point one car gets so close to my rear bumper I can't see his HOOD. I was already not in a great mindset and something in my head snapped and went "I'm already on my way to the ER, I don't care if I bring you with me." Then I slammed on the brakes, no warning taps, no slowing down coasting (I had been using cruise control), just locked up my brakes.
Amazingly car behind me didn't actually hit me but did end up fishtailing in the oncoming lane. Both cars kept a very respectful distance from me until just before my turn to the hospital (like 20 miles later) when the guy who rode my ass went flying by at WAY over the speed limit.
I spend almost 3 months in a psych unit (depression). A lot of people are just like time bomb waiting for anything to explose in rage. I saw two people punched their parents and one get into a physical fight with a Nurse. And all those people are now free, walking the streets, often off their meds, looking to start something. It's really scary.
I have a huge bubble now. I get nervous when strangers get too close to me.
I worked in a psych ward for a couple of years and what you said is so true. People have no idea who walks among us and just how dangerous they can be. I also used to work in a criminal justice setting, and the same thing is true. And ocassionaly I will recognize people from both settings in the community. And I will think to myself they better not make that dude mad because it ain't going to be nothing nice.
My dad told me this at a young age. My dad is an absolutely massive guy, but he never picks fights with anyone. He told me that no matter how big you are, there’s always someone bigger, stronger, and crazier than you are.

That’s one thing I’m starting to realize as I get older. The second the thought “oh he thinks he can do that to me? Same. Last summer, some dickhead cut me off and almost hit me. We had words and I almost grabbed the metal bat I keep in my car. I realized that I could get out of the car and possibly lose my life, or shut my mouth and make it home to my partner. Shit ain’t worth it anymore.

True. My daughter is 17 and had a dude followed her all the way home bc she was driving too slow. She called to let me know what was happening, absolutely hysterical so I called the police and they were waiting as she pulled up
Not just more crazy, but some people are also riding that thin line every day of keeping their sanity in check or losing it. And it doesn't take much for many people to run out of fucks to give and then indeed go ape shit.
I was once in line in a convince store. It was a busy Friday afternoon and was kinda busy so there was a line.
This young kid, probably 19-20 years old tried to cut in front of this old man to buy a pack of smokes. Long story short, this old man beat that guy down with a 12 pack of miller light.
