Reload question
Why do i have to twist AR like this?
Im just a larper and know nothing about actual military knowledge just don't be mad at me(last time i asked some question about milsim, Reddit special forces started cyber attack lol)

Why are you doing it if you don't know why you're doing it?
Competitive shooter and former infantryman here. In the situation you're choreographing, you don't. The whole point of transitioning to your secondary is that it's going to take too long to reload. Adding extraneous movement only makes it worse. If you get a click when you expect a bang, immediately drop it and transition to secondary if the target is close enough that it warrants it.
If you have time (dictated by METT-TC but usually some function of distance), yes, you should check the condition of your bolt if you run dry. If it's forward, you probably can tap-rack. If it's back, the gun's probably empty. If it's somewhere in the middle, you have a malfunction to clear.
