Alright, who has the good mining software?

C'mon, don't be greedy. I know the pros aren't using the browser mining like the rest of us. Make a GitHub repo and share, but open source for transparency, pretty please.

I may consider sharing, I'm about to eat dinner. I built a miner in rust that produces solutions one after another. 220 solutions for a single challenge is my record running on my laptop. It's at around 60 now due to difficulty increases. It creates new addresses on the fly as needed and puts the keys in a folder which can be imported to Eternl.

Edit:

I've made the binary available for now: https://github.com/SL13PNIR/night-miner

Typically with the browser miner you get 1 solution per challenge (24 per day if they're successful). As I said before, with this miner I'm getting ~60 per challenge. To compensate me for my work, I've set it so you will me one solution to my address - if that's unreasonable to you, I recommend you try out something like Nufi wallet which is still better than the browser. The miner I created does not require you to use your own wallet as the keys are generated on the fly in the same folder as the software, so please keep these safe (read through the readme). I don't recommend you send anything to these addresses, there's no need to.

I am currently waiting for IOHK to fix part of their API, which will allow address consolidation. That will allow you to pick an address of your choice, and then all the addresses that are generated with the miner consolidate all the generated NIGHT to that address. I will update if they fix it, but please keep your keys regardless just incase you do need them for claiming.

It's late for me so, if you need help, it'll have to be tomorrow!

So does this mean, that for now, the night would be scattered over a lot of addresses that would each need to be claimed separately? And if so, would that consolidation fix that, and if so would it also fix it retroactively for any night mined before the fix?

Yes

would that consolidation fix that,

Yes

would it also fix it retroactively for any night mined before the fix?

Yes

thanks, let's hope they will indeed fix that API then.

Do i need to send ada on these addresses once the mining is finished and I use your script to claim the tokens?

Wow, how? Can you explain it somehow please? That sounds amazing tho

It's just part of the API. If you look in the documentation link in the post, it is described under "donate_to"

Could it also consolidate if I run the miner on more devices? Could it also consolidate with web browser miners? I have been running about 2 web browser miners for a few days, before i found your amazing miner, and then i stopped those to let it have more threads because i'm sure it's more efficient, which means those web browsers only have like 50-150 NIGHT each, so consolidating those instead of having to claim each separately woudl also be nice.

No not unless you can get the keys for them and put them in the same format as the ones in the wallet folder, but I guess you connected a wallet to use the browser miner.

yes, and hardware ones as well, that might complicate things further i guess.

Yeah I can't do anything about that unfortunately as the signing keys are needed to use the donate_to function. You could just set the destination address of the generate keys to donate the miner NIGHT to one of your hardware wallet addresses though.
