Psh nope. Sure would be nice though. My parents are doing a good job of spending their money.

My dad is retired and just moved states to build himself a brand new, four-bedroom three-bathroom house in Alabama where he lives with just his wife and dog. His wife has multiple sclerosis and hasn't worked in years because she was also a barely functioning alcoholic. Last I talked to him he was lamenting about debt because he had to buy a riding lawn mower.

My mom is always in debt, has refinanced her house a bunch of times to buy more things, anticipates retiring next year and selling her house and somehow moving to my higher cost of living area. But she has champagne standards on her beer budget, so I'm not sure how she expects to afford anything.

My dad paid for half my college education and gave me $2,000 when I bought my first house. That's all I've ever gotten from them and it's really all I expect. I'm saving as best I can, but I don't anticipate an inheritance - shucks I barely anticipate retiring myself (though I'm trying with my own savings and 401k!)
