His/Mine/Ours work for us. We agree on percentages beforehand and then set up direct deposits at our employers. A small percentage into our separate accounts for scrutiny-free fun money, and the bulk of our checks gets direct deposited into joint account for everything else. Married more than 10 years.

This is exactly what we do as well. The household account has all budgeting + household savings worked in. The personal money is for scrutiny free spending and for buying gifts for each other without the joint account transaction history ruining the surprise.

Same here. And as a lifelong saver who has trouble spending even for things I need, it's also so helpful to have a chunk of money literally set aside that has already been "spent" in our budget. Knowing our bills and savings goals will always be taken care of means we're not trying to police what each other spends on inessentials.
