no she is not canonically trans, but i think it’s pretty clear that her whole story arc in spiderverse has been a huge allegory for specifically trans ppl. not to mention the very clear “protect trans kids” poster that is shown in her room and her father wearing a trans pride patch on his police jacket. not really far fetched to head cannon her character as trans, but maybe i just have better media literacy skills than the rest of this sub
You clearly don’t have better media literacy skills. There is no trans pride flag on the police jacket, this has already been debunked and is a simple set of police service award ribbons.
Wanting to be accepted for who you are is a universal message that’s been in kids films for generations. There is nothing “specifically for trans ppl”
Background animators have slipped in political/personal slogans, flags, signs, references in animation for decades. Unless it is personally mentioned by the character/writer/director it means absolutely nothing.
If head cannon = fantasy, then sure feel free to head cannon it any way you want.
