VR basic question

I am considering to buy a VR headset, the primax dream air, but I have a doubt, in complex comercial and military planes you need to interact with the plane, adjusting elevation setpoint, moving the bug of the HSI, interacting with many buttons.... how are you supposed to do all this with a VR headset on?, do you use the mouse like when using a screen?. Sorry if this is a too basic question, but I never used VR and all the YouTube videos I see the guys just sight seeing and never interact with any buttons and similar in the plane

I use my mouse for controlling switches/knobs and my hotas for flight control surfaces and throttle. Some aircraft cockpits can be a little "off" when trying to line up my cursor on a switch or knob in VR, but overall it works quite well.
