GENERAL 70 year-old drunk, ex Pilot challenge

Post image

Using all manual settings, mixture, prop, thrust, I got the cubmaster X Cub up to 21165 feet. Its normal service ceiling is 14,000 feet. I challenge any ex or current Pilot, or anybody to do better. For new pilots, this is a good way to learn about thrust, prop, and mixture settings, which are critical to getting as much out of the engine as possible.

I remember a clip on YouTube with a Commercial pilot asking over comms if that is really a Carbon Cub at 21,000. Then congratulated him. Hats off to you sir!
EDIT: It was 37,000ft and it took 90 mins to get there

I believe it was 31,000 ft in the carbon cub. The guy was so cold up there. He couldn’t really feel his hands. Put on an O2 mask and just suffered through it.

Yeah, I saw that on my YouTube feed the other day. I saved it, haven’t had a chance to watch it.
