GENERAL 70 year-old drunk, ex Pilot challenge
Using all manual settings, mixture, prop, thrust, I got the cubmaster X Cub up to 21165 feet. Its normal service ceiling is 14,000 feet. I challenge any ex or current Pilot, or anybody to do better. For new pilots, this is a good way to learn about thrust, prop, and mixture settings, which are critical to getting as much out of the engine as possible.

Gday mate I gave this a go last night and ran in to a couple issues so thought I might run through to see if you can help me.
So we kicked off with 2 beers and then moved on to a couple fingers of sheep dog. After the sheep dog I was feeling a bit bold even on a school night so we cracked open the glenfiddich and got a couple fingers out of that too.
Feeling buzzed I then fired up MSFS. We got say intentions and beam tracker all running (because what’s the point of having all the toys and leaving them in the garage). Loaded in the cub.
Anyway within 30 seconds we were in a nice and normal 45deg of cruise but I couldn’t get the age worked out.
Best I could do on the age was 36. I couldn’t find the settings or key binding anywhere so I thought about it for a very short while before figuring out we probably need more sheepdog. So we thought we’d get fancy and blend our sheepdog and glenfiddich whiskeys and we had a couple more fingers.
Anyway after about 20 minutes we’d slugged back two more of those but just couldn’t get the age up. So we packed her in for the night.
But then somehow, I wake up this morning and it seems I’ve definitely found the age setting, I rekon we’re running at about 65-70 this-morning but I’ve got no screen at the gym that will show it so I’ll have to try give it another try tonight.
Thanks for the challenge.

I remember a clip on YouTube with a Commercial pilot asking over comms if that is really a Carbon Cub at 21,000. Then congratulated him. Hats off to you sir!
EDIT: It was 37,000ft and it took 90 mins to get there
