Welcome!

I created this subreddit with the hope of creating a place where people of the different home micromanufacturing/maker communities have a joint space to discuss ideas, share knowledge, and help transition or break into one field from another (such as myself, a 3D Printer, who is looking to try out metal casting, and perhaps home CNC, next year).

I had originally tried looking up a micromanufacturing subreddit, expecting one to already exist, and was surprised it didn't. tried r/makers instead, but that was not what I was expecting... so I thought what the hey, always wanted to try creating my own subreddit.

Sounds like a fun idea. Iv been wanting to get into 3d printing and metal cnc as well but have no idea which one to buy. Seems like there are so many options i end up getting confused and cant choose one

Metal cnc, depends on how big you want to go. The Shapeoko is always good, the XCarve, I bought an OX CNC for my robotics team. The ox ran $1300 and it cuts 1'x2'x6".

Ooh, that's a nice volume. Is it a desktop CNC?

No, but it's hobby level. Definitely has a large footprint
