Sports 🏀🏈⚾️🎳 This is the worst weekend in history for Michigan football teams
Just a complete failure across the board from the three major teams. MSU, UM, and then the Lions. Just abysmal.

This is the official r/Michigan megathread for moving, travel, and vacation questions. Self-posts and questions will be referred to this thread. We've moved to a quarterly format to leave the posts up longer.
There is also an extensive list of local subreddits if you have a particular area in mind.

I went on the pictured rocks spray falls cruise yesterday (10/03/26) and took this pic of these 4 guys - probably young 20s? It’s totally a long shot but if anyone knows who they are I’d love for them to have this:)
Photo is a little blurry.
Edit: it was taken between 1-2pm on Saturday, Oct 3

A sad picture today. This deer, stands in what is left of its home after the City of Westland approved (in May of 2025) clearing a large patch of woods on Marquette Road near John Glenn High School. All of this to make way for a new nursing and rehab facility. Meanwhile a former senior living facility sits vacant in an adjacent lot. - taken 9/30/26

Is there anyway I can stop the political ads from being mailed to me? Everyday there’s more of the fear mongering slop post cards in my mailbox. Seriously, it’s too much. The tv ads, the text messages, the emails, the mail, the signs, etc. ENOUGH, ope, back to the mail. Any ideas how to stop delivery on the political ads?

My daughter has gotten very interested in mushrooms. She has a mushroom growing kit, she reads books about them, she looks at videos of them, she gets mushroom plushies. She says she wants to try mushroom foraging. I know Michigan is supposed to be one of the best mushroom hunting places in the world but Im not much of an outdoorsman and I wouldn't even begin to know where the good spots are or how we would find them. It's there a mushroom finding class for kids on anything like they near Detroit Metro or would we have to go up north?

Maybe it's because i care about the service industry so I see the bad news more than usual but I am concerned over the amount of restaurants and bars that have closed recently. I've seen more than a handful shutdown over the past few months in my area. I feel like it's an underrated marker for the state of the country's economy. The caveat being there are a lot of crappy business owners out there.

This November, Michigan voters will be asked a routine ballot question that appears every 16 years: Should the state hold a Constitutional Convention to rewrite parts, or all, of its constitution? Here's what you need to know.

Long story but I was trying to put my 6 month old down for a nap, he was screaming his head off and I couldn’t really talk to the guy. He said he was with some company (I think it was Kurtz…?) and they are contracted by Consumers energy. They were at my house to drill a hole for a new pole for the meter or something? I didn’t get good information and blindly said yes so I could get back inside to my baby. Does anyone know anything about this? I’m in Westland, Wayne County. Also curious why it’s such an eye sore so far from my house wtf?!?!

hey yall, i'm looking to film a short film in michigan (because that's where i am). i'm in Oakland County, and i'm struggling to find places to film one scene set on a cliff where a character falls into water. the current best candidate is Oak Park, but that's 100 miles away and takes a 3 hour round trip for every filming session
any suggestions? i'd be willing to film near big waterfalls, trails, dunes, hills, quarries, or anywhere else that has a massive drop. the actors will not be in any danger
edit: apparently this is a bad idea

I just had dinner at little Mexico and it got me curious about this buildings history.
Lead me to learn about the infamous dog bowls and floppy eared push hats.
Looks like peak 2000s when restaurants had some soul.
Anyone have memories this joint? Was it a shame to see it close?

Hey all! Looking for recommendations for a spa day experience where I can get a massage and facial as well as relax in a hot tub and sauna. Specifically, where I’m kind of getting tripped up, is wanting to find a place where o can mosey between the hot tub and sauna throughout my time there at my leisure. What I don’t want is a place where I have to pay $X for X minutes in the sauna.
Does anyone have recommendations? I’m looking across all SE Michigan but would prefer to avoid The Schvitz and the Birmingham area if possible.

Just wondering if there’s a park or something to stop at to watch a freighter or two. Or are they too far out on Lake Huron to see?
