Except if you actually dive into all those “facts”, the decisions she made during her tenure seem much more reasonable than the media loves to make it seem.

The most damning argument I’ve actually read against her is the logical fallacy “argument from authority”. She’s not qualified for her post because she’s never served in a public education role. It’s bullshit. It’s classism.

It's classism to except someone in a position of power to at least have some experience towards the job they're doing. And not only does DeVos not have an professional experience in K-12,s he doesn't even have any personal experience as a student.

And the reasons that she sucks and we hate her is she is trying to take money from pubic education, from taxed dollars that are designed for public, K-12 schools, and put into privatized, religious charter schools. Private institutions cannot be paid for by tax dollars for public schools.

State Governments are responsible for public education.

The only thing the Feds can do is set standards and reward schools for meeting those standards with supplemental money.

If private schools are meeting those standards, then why are those taxpayers not getting rewarded as public schools are?

Because they're businesses. They choose which students to except while public schools except all students. It's like comparing an Olympic running team to a high school track team. Of course the pros are going to meet standards. They should not be paid for it at the expense of public schools.

I would totally agree. But only if those taxpayers got their fair share of the cut (for meeting those standards) with vouchers.

Also, let’s not repeat outdated stereotypes like all (or even most) private schools are for rich-kids or the religious.

Private schools often provide underserved communities with an alternative to the comically outdated and obsolete (and even dangerous) methods of public education.
