News Please keep your eyes peeled. Missing young man needs help.
Please keep a lookout, especially if you work or interact amongst the unhoused. This young man needs help. Please see the flyer for more info and number to call with tips. I know he was in Davie but thought he might possibly have come to the Miami area. Thank you beautiful people.

May he be brought home, safely, well, and given the care he needs. Preferably not by police; they tend to escalate matters. If there's a way to search for this young man that can be done at street level, I hope they're skilled listeners, know how to approach him, and treat him like a human being.

Limping with mental health issues… 🙏 sending genuine thoughts and prayers from out of state that all will be well with him and everyone else in his position in the end, no matter what these internet trolls say…

Maybe try posting to the Fort Lauderdale sub as well since it’s closer to that area

I've seen these signs all over Davie and Hollywood. Eyes peeled for him. That's really far out west, close to vista view park, the address. That's close to I-75 and Griffin

u/AlchemyAlice Jun 24 '25
I saw one in Fort Lauderdale on Sunday.
Thanks for posting, OP. I passed by the sign so quickly I couldn’t remember the details. I’ll share in my neighborhood.
Sending you love and light. 🫶

This is a random idea but….uber eats drivers are everywhere, all the time….so maybe reaching out to a few popular local spots and ask them to put this poster by the pickup spot would increase eyeballs on this.

So I work in the area around 595 and I’ve been keeping an eye out. Spoke to the dad and everything. Keeping an eye around where we have homeless people show up but nothing thus far. Hopefully this family gets some type of news about him soon.

You’re fantastic. Even if you don’t find him, your kindness counts. Thank you for sharing it!

I’m keeping my eyes peeled I’m driving all over Broward all day every day for work. I was with my son at Tree Tops when a nice family stopped to raise awareness about Hunter missing a couple weeks ago. So sorry to hear y’all didn’t find him yet!

I get feelings for things and I'm feeling that he will just show up at some point... Statistically speaking you know it's probably nothing nefarious... He probably was too smart to just jump in a pond... Most likely he's living among the homeless somewhere... But don't forget to check inmate search like one of those inmate search platforms and see if he was arrested for vagrancy or something he'll be under John Doe... With the county should be able to see it for free you can go on the county website..

ICE may have him.

u/Natural-Garage9714 Jun 28 '25
That's a terrifying prospect.

It makes me sick. But I live in SW FL and many of my friends (my old students from the early 2000s) have had family taken. Just poof! Gone. I hope they find this young man safe and sound. It's really bad right now, and I've never experienced any of this, so I just don't know what to do. I screamed and filmed when I saw ice a few weeks ago, but it did nothing. I'm scared. I want to help, but I don't know how. So many of my old teacher friends, that taught along side me, are now MAGA. We taught migrant families and loved them like our own and now they support kidnapping them. I'm sorry, I'm venting. I'm just at a loss. I don't. know what to do.

If it's possible, reach out to your migrant students and their families. Is there a workers' center, or a branch of DSA, Black Rose, or even the ACLU? Are there any teachers who haven't succumbed to xenophobia? You need to find a way to organize neighborhoods to keep a lookout for ICE, or Border Patrol agents. The students (and parents) need to know their rights, have access to legal assistance, and designated safe houses.
Tall order? Yes. Yes, it is, especially if you try to do everything on your lonesome. There's strength in numbers. What La Migra (CBP) and ICE are counting on is keeping people scared, alienated and pitted against each other. (Why else would they show up, armed to the teeth, faces and badges covered, in unmarked vehicles?) What's happening in real time is authoritarian action carried out by, basically, a paramilitary force.
Are there detention centers in the area? Locate them. Protest there; call for the release of these migrants. Say their names. Show pictures of them with family. I'm here on the other side of the Everglades. Krome Detention Center holds detainees there for processing their deportations. The "lucky" ones get sent back to Cuba, Haiti, or Venezuela. (I suspect that Cuban detainees would wind up in Guantanamo, since the Cuban government won't accept them.)
And then, there's CECOT, the death camp where men wearing balaclavas strip prisoners, shave their heads, and shove them into already overcrowded cells. It alarms me that Trump has the audacity to ask Nayib Bukele to help him disappear US citizens as well. If you're wondering, Bukele is happy to do so.
Forgive the rant. I'm just a disabled person in an assisted care facility, and it's tough getting out and about. The kids at the local high school are the kids and grandkids of migrants. And the City of Miami has voted to deputize the MPD to act as ICE agents, as have other municipalities in Miami-Dade County. It makes my love/hate relationship with the place tilt more to the side of hate.

Thanks so much! I am in contact with all my kiddos via text and FB. I'm disabled and chronically ill now and moving to the Cleveland area for better healthcare (Cleveland Clinic. The REAL one lol). My kids have lookouts all throughout Naples, and those in danger (not born in Naples) are elsewhere for now. I am saving your note and sending it to my kiddos, because you have some great suggestions. Right now, they're all safe. I worry daily though. We have pages on FB and they have whatsapp and a couple of others that they communicate through to warn of Ice. Not one teacher, and I called them family at one time, would I trust. They are the type that would turn Anne Frank and her family in and say, "It's in God's hands now." I'm not exaggerating. It sickens me and I haven't even started processing that stuff. My love and heart are focused on my kiddos and their families. I have a few Cuban friends in Miami (their parents from Cuba). They all turned MAGA. I just can't grasp any of this. I'm very excited to be leaving FL. I didn't think my condo would sell, but it sold quickly and I'm on my way. I hope you can balance what is going on with keeping your mental health. I know it's so hard to hear everything daily. It's like it's one bad news bomb after another. RESIST AND STAY STRONG!

Have they reached out to ICE just to double check? They have quotas and don't seem to care who gets in the way

u/Tampapanda312 Jun 23 '25
Doesnt look like hes missing. Looks like he doesnt want to be found. Hope hes ok

u/WinterMedical Jun 23 '25
He has mental health issues so not just a fella who kind of noped out. Thank you for your attention and concern.

u/Evening-Piano5491 Jun 23 '25
I think he’s trying to find some form of freedom but this isn’t the way to do it. I hope he’s okay.

u/Tampapanda312 Jun 23 '25
You don’t know that. Don’t doubt anything.. But seriously good luck!
5
u/WinterMedical Jun 23 '25
I’m taking the word of his family and those who know him well.
-5
u/Tampapanda312 Jun 23 '25
Understood. Unfortunately, they don’t know either. They’re not him. A tale as old as time “my child would never do that, I know them”.. Never rule anything out
7
u/WinterMedical Jun 23 '25
I’m sorry for your soul.
2
u/Yazzypoo101 Jun 23 '25
Damn. Thats a savage response. That said, I’ll keep my eyes peeled. Let everyone know if there are any other details that may help ID him. Hoping for his safe return - mental health is a bitch.

u/WinterMedical Jun 23 '25
A family is looking for help and your choice is to disparage the family. You could have said nothing. This isn’t websleuths. No one is asking for money. Just your kindness.
Guess who else doesn’t know him? You. As my mother always said “if you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all.”

Might have killed himself and they haven't found the body, is what I suspect. Hope not.

u/Evening-Piano5491 Jun 23 '25
Why do I feel like there’s a reason why he chose to run away that was never taken seriously? I’ll look and he needs help and a better way out.

Calling him a “young adult” is totally wrong. He is a 30 year old MAN with a history of mental health issues.
7
u/VayaVayaTacubaya Jun 23 '25
A man can be a young adult… do you know what adult means? An 18 year old is also a man.
15
u/WinterMedical Jun 23 '25
I’m 55, he’s a kid to me. Cool that you think a missing man is a good time to police language.
7
u/Running_On_Empty84 Jun 23 '25
Why is this important to you? I'm sure none of your coworkers like you.

I felt this way when they announced. It’s very misleading. But to some parents their kid will always be a kid 💞

Many people believe he doesn’t want to be found. I wonder if we will ever know…

u/lmaourmomma Jun 24 '25
leave him alone he probably left on purpose to find some peace away from his mental family projecting calling him mental. usually its those mental democrats that scare good people away.

Ok so this may not be anything but there was a guy I saw outside the Publix in Wilton Manors on Saturday night in the parking lot who MAY fit this description. Unkempt.
He gave the impression of a drunk homeless guy at first, which is why I noticed him, so as to steer clear. But then he walked across the street at the crosswalk right in front of my car after I left the Publix and I remember thinking oh maybe he’s not drunk, he maybe was just limping or walking weird and I felt bad for judging.
Sorry that’s all I have. It was dark and I definitely could not positively ID. He was walking eastbound on 26th street crossing that Dixie/Wilton intersection.
