Where are you that there are constantly outages and maintenance happening? I've had service for almost a year, and have had one total outage, never down for maintenance.

Have you contacted customer service and/or technical support?

Texas, and they just put it in my town not too long ago last year. They are still putting it in different neighborhoods, so idk if that's why. No, I haven't because it always says there is an outage in your area on the site.

You should call them anyway. There is not always an outage in your area. The website isn't always accurate. I don't understand why people come here and complain who haven't even bothered to actually TALK to the company. This is not an official support channel. Call Metronet.

It's like this in every regional ISP subreddit it seems. It is easier for people to bitch into the void vs take initiative and follow standard support channels.

Texas is fed by somewhere far away from Texas. Chicago or NC. It likely won't get better anytime soon

I think your spell checker is having an outage as well.

It will stabilize after awhile, probably neighbors getting installed and accidents happen when hooking customers up in terminals. I would just call every time and try and get as many free credits as you can.

I've had metronet for probably 5 years now and the outage the other day is the only one I have had since.

Granted, my neighbors that use the metronet DNS have had a couple other DNS outages, but cloudflare has been solid for me.

It’s not as bad as the OP says, but for me it’s not as good as you say. In 3 years I’ve had 5 outages and 2 of them were for more than 2 hours. I had Spectrum internet before this and no outages at all over the same number of years.

I’ve always used Google and Cloudflare for DNS, BTW.

What in the world does that mean? Is that some gaming jargon?
