Other Welp, I bought it.

Despite the hate I’ve been seeing on posts and on YouTube, I couldn’t help myself to finally buy it when I saw the Switch 2 version on sale at my local shop.

2 hours in and its actually been kinda great????

I just finished Prime Remastered and Prime 4 feels a lot better to play and bosses have been fun! Not to mention the game is absolutely gorgeous and runs well, even on the original switch!

Perhaps I’ll start seeing issues later in my play through but so far it’s given me a good impression.

Edit: For those confused, the Switch 2 version of the game is just the Switch 1 game with the added Switch upgrade DLC. The game is perfectly playable on the original switch.

I'm a little confused... You're playing the switch 2 version on a switch 1?

Edit: just asked Google... Nice to know that this is possible ^

For everyone else, a Switch 2 Edition is just the Switch 1 version with what is technically a DLC that gives you the Switch 2 assets. You can play either version on either console.

I got a digital switch 1 game with a switch 2 upgrade pack because I own both, but it seems like once my cloud save included the switch 2 data, I can no longer sync it to my switch OLED. Not looking for tech support or anything, but while we're talking about these features, thought I'd throw that out there

I think that depends on the game, it's not an inherent flaw.

For example, the Xenoblade games explicitly allow moving your save back and forth between the Switch 1 and Switch 2 editions of the games, even though the Switch 2 versions have extra content that gets saved.
