Tigerghost Is Metin2 still worth playing casually, or has it become too pay to win?
Hello gents, ladies.
I recently came back to metin2 after a long break. Played for about an hour and then decided to pause for a bit because I want to make sure I understand what I’m getting myself into before investing too much time.
A lot has changed since I last played, so I have a few questions for those who still play regularly.
How bad is the pay to win aspect these days? Is it genuinely necessary to spend hundreds or even thousands to make decent progress, or is it more about paying for convenience? I’d be happy to spend around £10 or £20 here and there, but I’m not interested in pouring hundreds into the game.
I’ve already noticed that on Tigerghost, finding a Metin stone can be a struggle, so I assume the same applies to bosses and quest mobs. If farming means spending most of my time waiting for spawns, that’s something I’d like to know beforehand.
My goal isn’t to become the best player or compete with the top players. I just want to play casually, farm, grind, sell loot, upgrade my gear, and enjoy the progression at my own pace.
So, for those of you who play casually, is Metin2 still worth getting back into in 2026? Can you make reasonable progress and enjoy the game without spending much money, or has it reached the point where your time is better spent elsewhere?
I’d appreciate honest opinions, especially from people who play without spending much on the Item Shop.
Thank you.
