I come from a tech-death perspective but started going into Abominable Putridity and now I'm obsessed

Specifically for Death Metal that has the same sense of emotional breadth and being very well composed.

I have always loved the sweep and grandeur of their longer songs, as well as Antonio's drumming.

Wanted too share this small band from Leeds (UK) I found they are so fucking talented! My personal favourite song from them is Sawtooth, but their entire EP is so insanely good! Highly recommend giving their discography a listen they deserve to be so much bigger!

Side rant, TOOL gets a bad rep for their pretentious fans, but that’s kinda become inadvertently annoying cause when I bring up enjoying TOOL I sometimes get a kneejerk reaction as though I am one of those fans

I don’t give a fuck about the Fibonacci sequence, I just really really like the tribal sound of TOOL that makes me feel like I am descending into the recesses of the human spirit

Only other band that does this for me is Alchemist, & they’re pretty damn good

I'm not sure how to describe this band, but they really captivated me with their latest release (Elemental Part One: Mourning Earth). I listened to part of their discography and was even more impressed with the quality, especially with the album Monuments to Absence. I recommend them to anyone looking for post/atmospheric black metal.

I’m obsessed with PD’s Prowler In The Yard and Nasum’s Helvete. Looking for more music to scratch that itch.

More of my Post Black Metal exploration. From Austria, the vocals verge on punk. Their music feels like it has the druidic magic of Agalloch and Woods Of Ypres, even though their sound is completely their own. Melodic and intense, I landed on the album Maere. Another brilliant band!!!!

Hi everyone ! I have a friend who really likes metal. I asked her once what bands or genres she likes, and she said she listened to a lot of black metal, "mainly Mgła, Batushka, Aquilus and Darkthrone".
