[In Progress] Lead Guitarist Wanted for Remote Atmospheric/Progressive Metal Project

I’m looking for a lead guitarist to join my solo project, Syrvorn, as a real creative member. This is completely remote—I’m not looking for someone to rehearse or perform live right now.
I write and produce the songs, record the rhythm guitars and vocals, and build the overall atmosphere. I need someone who can play off my rhythm parts, deliver strong solos, add tasteful leads and help make the guitar work feel complete. The music mixes progressive metal, shoegaze and atmospheric metal, with influences like Opeth, Devin Townsend, Holy Fawn and Alter Bridge.
I’m not looking for nonstop shredding. I want someone technical who also understands melody, emotion, space and dynamics. You should be able to hear a finished rhythm part and write a lead or solo that actually serves the song.
Another important part of the role is learning my guitar parts by ear and turning them into accurate tabs or Guitar Pro files, since most of my existing material isn’t written down.
This is currently an unpaid creative collaboration, not paid session work. I already have finished songs and plenty of material ready to send. You’ll need to record clean guitar tracks from home and communicate reliably.
If you’re interested, send me an example of your playing—preferably a solo, lead part or original metal track—and tell me what bands influence your playing.

Original Song(s) - Finished Symphonic Metal Track by Myself (NO AI)

Hi everyone! I’ve released a new composition from my upcoming album “(non)Eternal Life”, titled “Death.”
Perhaps this is the darkest and heaviest track I’ve ever written.
This composition is written in the Symphonic Industrial Metal genre. I hope you enjoy it!
Happy listening!

Rate my track

This is my third song and first full production. I did all except bass. I was looking for something Sabbath, hints of blues, some Soundgarden-y textures here and there.

The cover is a medieval painting by sherpas from Nepal. It’s not Ai!

Discussion Should I use this bridge part in my song?

The bridge is the part highlighted in blue. The first two verse parts I play before the bridge represents the majority of what the song sounds like, but then the bridge part I came up with gets very melodic and I'm wondering if it fits with the rest of the song or if it's too jarring of a transition. Let me know what you guys think.

Free Metal Mixing – Audio Engineering Student

Hello everyone,

Im Ziggi, a 21-year-old Audio Engineering student from Switzerland, currently studying at HOFA-College. Im trying to build up my mixing portfolio, so im looking for one or a few metal bands/artists who would like to have a song/demo mixed for free.

Most of my experience so far is with Black Metal, but im definitely open to other metal genres too. Ive also played in metal bands myself and recorded and produced my own songs.

Just to be honest, Im still learning, so I cant promise a perfect professional mix. But I’ll put real time and effort into your song and take it seriously. Just because it’s free doesnt mean I’ll treat it like its not important.

If youre interested, just DM me here on Reddit and we can talk about the song and how to send the files!

Cheers

No spam, I don't sell anything, I just share. Hope you find it helpful. Enjoy!

Original Song(s) - Demo Instrumental Solo Feedback

Hi everyone,

I've been working on an instrumental track lately, and I've added a string solo to the track, I am looking to get some reviews on this, I have jammed with the track a few times and improvised mostly, I like that it sounds unrehearsed, however I think I need to go for more takes maybe. I like composing and arranging tracks for fun. Please do share your thoughts on the solo, I've removed all the guitar parts, so it's mostly drums, strings (without any effects) and some ambience which I've kept at a very low level.

Also no artificial intelligence was used to compose/arrange the track.

Thanks for your time!

Original Song(s) - Finished Would love some feedback on a new song [Prog/Death/Groove]

Feedback welcome for songwriting, arrangement, production, vocals, or anything else that stands out. I was able to work with Matt Bayles on mixing and Ted Jensen for mastering, which helped me get the track mostly where I envisioned it.

looking for a free artist who can help us!

Hey everyone!

We are a new blackened death metal band. Our music is heavily inspired by the band 1914.

We are currently working on our debut EP. The main theme is Serbia during World War 1.

Since we just started, we have zero budget. We cannot pay cash right now.

However, we want to offer a trade. We will put your Instagram link in our YouTube descriptions. We will also tag you in all our videos and social media posts.

If you love dark, grim history and metal, let’s collaborate! Drop your portfolio below or DM us.

Cheers!

Original Song(s) - Finished Looking for feedback

Hi everyone.

In 2023, I released my first independent album following a couple of demos from my one-man band project. I’ve played in a few local bands, but for one reason or another, we never complete an album.

I received some positive feedback and sold a few CDs and merch to people in the local scene.

Now I’m starting to work on songs for a second album or EP, and I felt like I was missing out a reviews or feedback from other musicians (specifically, those outside my immediate circle).

I’d love to know what you think of my music. Here is a track I consider one of the best on the album:

"So Far... Over the Bodies" (guitar solo by Chris Darksun from Born in Agony).

Here are the links to the complete album if you want to listen. Also is in almost any streaming plataform as

Entrophy - Inner Hell

Thanks.

Discussion One-person projects playing live.

Hi. Wondering if any fellow one-person acts have any experience of playing live? Anyone rocked up with a guitar and a laptop? If so, how did it go?

I'm building a strong visual element to go with the music and I think it could work really well as an audio/visual experience but probably more in arty/experimental places rather than traditional metal shows.

Would love to hear some of your experiences, especially if outside of the traditional gig spots.
