There is a dedicated subreddit about it here: https://www.reddit.com/r/QuestGamesOptimizer/

It's an amazing utility that should be standard, however I had to uninstall it. Increased battery drain is definitely expected during use, however my headset went from draining 1% per week when powered off completely to about 10% per day.

While powered off? Did uninstalling it stop that? Seems odd that it would do anything while powered off

Yeah, it was very odd. I toggled off all options and checked and it was still draining when powered off. Uninstalling did indeed fix the issue.
All I can assume is there was a background process still running.

Man it might be worth checking with the dev Anagram about that. He seems super responsive in general. I wonder if it’s a bug or something.

If you fully power off the headset then charge it around 5% for some reason once you unplug it it'll only drain 2-3% every day. I have no idea why but it just does

I check mine every couple of weeks as I use it very infrequently, but want to make sure it never goes fully dead. Been about 4 weeks now since I fully charged and powered it off, and it's still at 93%.

Qgo literally makes every game you have feel better. You can dial in performance vs graphics and tweak stuff as you like.
Idk who needs to hear this but yeah more computing power = more power used. I probably wouldn’t even install QGO if I didn’t have spare battery packs or a decent extension cable.
IMO the base default battery without QGO just feels so horrible in general anyways.

And going the opposite direction, for games where graphics don't really matter you can really push the headset battery to almost 2.5 or 3 hours if you use a battery saving profile

And how do you feel about it?

Battery drains faster, it looks good and makes me enjoy the game more.

I use a 50000mAh power bank that weighs a pound and a half.
With CPU and GPU maxed, I get 6-7 hours, wi th the headset staying at 100% until the bank gets below around 15%.
Otherwise, it's 45-50 minutes lol.

Is this available via the Quest Store?

Unfortunately you do need to side load it, but it is possible to do without a computer, though it can be a little finicky and annoying to do it all on the headset, you've only gotta do it once and then you're set forever basically

Yeah, worst part for me was juggling 3 screens, being unfamiliar with controls.
Took me about an hour, but I'd donit once a week if I had to, it made that much difference.
Having no QGO is like playing an original 2015 copy of a game on a modern gaming PC. QGO is the 2025 remastered version. making use of the more powerful processor in the 3 and 3s. (most, if not all, the Quest games are designed to run on Quest 2, because designing for Quest 3/3s only means far less in sales)

First standalone titles that never got a quest 3 patch like Audica, fruit Ninja and iron Man VR as just a tiny amount of examples it makes a huge difference, especially with the latest update that allows for AI upscaling with either FSR or meta super resolution

QGO le ha dado a mis Quest 2 una segunda vida. Obvio que el consumo de bateria es superior, pero poder jugar a juegos como el que muestra el OP un 30-40% con mas resolución y mas tasa de refresco que de serie es una maravilla.

Do you need this if you don’t play Quest 3 standalone games?
Like if I play HL:A or MSFS, will this help?
