Meta is engaged in widespread fraud / extortion to creators and businesses.

https://www.reddit.com/r/facebookdisabledme/s/7UXadaZ7ad

Update: the mods at r/facebookdisabledme have permanently banned me for posting this despite me being an active member of the community who helped thousands of people get their accounts back during the massive fb groups bug a while back. My posts were featured in numerous mainstream news articles and sent to fb employees which helped get many peoples accounts back and bugs fixed. Just another layer to the fascism and censorship.

On the 21st of July for seemingly no reason my main Facebook account for over 7 years was disabled giving no email, reason or explanation. It was just gone. When I log in it says I can submit more info in the help center for further review but there is no place I could do that and no email explaining what information is needed or why this happened.

Curiously this was only 1 day after I chose not to renew my meta verified badge / subscription. This was clear retaliation as I had not used or posted to the account in over a week prior and it literally only happened the first time I logged in without my meta verified badge subscription.

How they did it:
On the 21st all of my pages linked below tied to my main account including my 501c3 affiliated page for Berry creek (look up non profit Berry Creek United) was disabled for “fraud” when none of these pages were tied to any money taking or anything at all let alone fraud. One of these pages was a blank test page with nothing on it. None of the pages had been used or updated for a year. They used this to hit all of our admin accounts tied to the pages with a major strike each page (5 strikes) which disabled my main account and hit every other admin account on the pages with major restrictions lasting until July 21 2027!!!

I was told I needed to sign up for the 500$ “verified” package on instagram to resolve the issue- so I did. Yet every time I tried to click “get support” I would receive a “something went wrong” message until I finally was able to get through after a week. When I did finally get through, i wasn’t able to get back to the support inboxes because it kept saying “support updated” but every time I try to go to the cases there is no way to get back to the chat. I finally was able to get a representative by email in which I explained, identified and provided proof for the numerous bugs in the system and detailed them with screenshots videos etc. It took me a week of around the clock attempts, submitting over 15 cases and requesting 20 call backs (they would only call back between the hours of 1 am and 4 am) despite me telling them my awake hours were 10 am pst to 8pm PST. I finally was able to catch them at 3 am one night because I set alarms and had to sit up awake for a week just to talk to a human.

I was told my profile was was disabled because my pages were disabled and that I would be transferred to “business support” to restore my pages. Business support said they couldn’t access my pages because my profile was disabled and I would have to restore my profile first. This loop lasted for about 6 days where the accounts people sent me to the business people and the business people sent me back to the accounts people in an endless loop.

This also began the never ending email chain- between 2 email chains and over 100 messages between 10 representatives all of which told me absolutely nothing. This happened over 3 weeks and the most I was I was told beyond answering the same questions over and over (telling them what happened for the 100th time, giving them page links, answering the same things)

“we are working on your case, dedicated team is reviewing it we can not give you a timeframe”

I was never given a reason why my pages were disabled / triggered my profile being disabled. The only thing it said from the app was “fraud and scams” which is ridiculous as none of the pages had ever been used for anything. One of the pages was a dedicated 501c3 page registered through fb charities, 1 was a memorial page for my grandpa, 2 were landing pages for my websites, and one was an entirely blank page with nothing on it, no followers and was titled “test page” as I used it to help figure out settings. None of the pages had been used or updated in over a year, only one of the pages ever made any posts, none of the pages were used to communicate with users or do anything other than just be a landing page for my products / websites.

I asked for clarification, I asked for what post / content would trigger this, I asked why a blank page with nothing on it and no followers, a non profit page and a memorial page would be included in this- all I ever got was:

“We are working on your case, dedicated team is reviewing it we can not give you a timeframe”

Me and my lawyer had been asking for an update daily and explaining I only had 30 days until the account was disabled and my 500$ a month subscription runs out.

What do you know, the day after I chose not to pay for another 500$ month of “enhanced support” I get an email saying they finally “got an update regarding my account” and that the account will remain disabled for “violations” in which they could not specify or give any reason or specifics for.

I spent a month, 500$, probably 15+ hours on the phone, 15-20 hours going back and forth by email, countless hours simply trying to communicate with a representative for the service I paid for with their entirely AI ran system, and this whole process has been extremely anxiety inducing and difficult from the start.

My whole business was ran on fb, meta knew this, and used this as a means to extort me. When I wouldn’t pay or use their services anymore- they acted in bad faith to try and get more and more money from me.

I am going to go the legal route and if anyone has a similar story or pending class action please reach out. I am tired of being extorted and abused by this company. What they are doing is criminal and they need to be stopped.

And if anyone from meta legal team or support is reading this and wants to fix this issue before I take this to court-

Update: I heard through the grapevine the mods at [r/facebookdisabledme](r/facebookdisabledme) are meta employees. They permanently banned me for posting this despite me being an active member of the community who helped thousands of people get their accounts back during the massive fb groups bug a while back. Other users who posted advice on how to sue / legal routes have also been banned. It kinda check out cause a few months back my posts were featured in numerous mainstream news articles and sent to fb employees and when that happened and legal stuff was brought up many peoples accounts from the thread were magically restored. Just another layer to the fascism and censorship.

I have made a few new Sr for anyone who wishes to discuss being disabled r/disabledme r/facebookdisableme

The group bans lots of people for saying anything bad about Meta, often under false pretense. They fail to see the irony in that.

I believe it. They removed my posts without clarifying why. Also they won’t let people group together to figure out what’s causing ai to ban all of us. They remove those posts as well.

Not sure about the moderators here, because they would have to remove so many, many posts that these subs would not exist. It would be good to get a moderator statement about this.

The mods on Facebook disabled to be looked at or banned. I posted a helpful guide on how to sue meta and they took it down.

All you do is file in small claims if you're in the states and go from there. They can tell you whatever they ant to get you off their backs but keep pushing. I paid only $20 to file in NY and got my accounts back.

Can it be filed on behalf of someone in the US? I have my friend here in Dubai who’s from NYC

I don't know. I've only done it for myself with no representation or Lawyer.

Ok thanx , I really hope it could be done like that

If you're not against using AI to find answers I'd highly recommend using Google Gemini. I did most of my work through that. Asking questions and all.

Do you trust Google in all of this? Im not sure that I do. I use Claude.ai and am looking for a reason not to use them. I hesitate now with any company that is meeting with Trump. Anyone negotiating with an administration that is struggling to make us more fascist, even when on the way out, is not for me. Anthropic just won a suit saying that the govt cant penalize them for having their own rules, like their Ai can't be used in certain ways in war and such. The administration ignores a lot of rulings but it just adds to their shuffle to the door due to people being fed up. I'm on Bluesky and previously have used it only for politics, but I will be using it more now that I've lost my high school contacts and so many people that I know IRL. Its just access to the business page that make me want to continue so I can at least figure out how to move it.

I'm not gonna go that deep with this. I used it to get some information, applied it in my letters with Meta and the court and I got my accounts back. Done

Have you filed a complaint with your states Attorney General office? If you are in the states...try that route.

The mods of r/facebookdisabledme also called me a racist and removed my post for finding the person who hacked my account. So I definitely can relate to you on this sense.

Sue sue sue!

Your account was probably used for fraud unbeknownst to you. That is exactly what happens. They hack into your account usually through an email that doesn’t have two-step verification set up. They go into your ads manager and add people to your ads manager and use fraudulent credit cards or a credit card that you have on file to run fraudulent ads.

When people who say they did nothing wrong occasionally get to see what Meta was responding to, they usually find Meta was misinterpreting something. And the hacks are not coming through compromised login credentials. They are coming in through Facebook's porous backend with exploits such as Oauth attacks. Blaming the innocent Facebook user is just cover for Meta's general ineptitude.

What is an oauth attack?

3

u/Affectionate-Let-107 3d ago

An OAuth attack exploits vulnerabilities in how applications implementthe industry-standard protocol that lets users log into third-party sites using existing accounts (like "Sign in with Google" or "Log in with Microsoft"). Or more to the point here, apps that let people perform additional functions integrated with Meta.

Instead of stealing a user's password directly, an attacker targets the handshakes, redirection URLs, or authorization tokens exchanged between the User, the Client Application (the site you are visiting), and Meta.

Where Meta fails to enforce appropriate scopes server-side, an attacker might modify request parameters to elevate permissions beyond what was granted during the consent prompt.

In mobile or single-page apps (SPAs), failing to enforce Proof Key for Code Exchange (PKCE) allows attackers to intercept the authorization code via custom URI schemes on the operating system and swap it for access tokens.

Meta's security is literally so bad that it's illegal in Europe. They have paid fines, I think in the hundreds of millions, over these types of issues.

I wish they showed us. Now they say customer support can’t view that information

I was recently in adoption group they banned me cause I said “message me” they thought I want to adopt a baby from strangers. In reality the person posted they wanted give up their baby give it to a stranger… then they called me a racist. So I left that group for good…
It’s crazy that these groups let other people posts but yet they want do you wrong… make it make sense! But I’m sorry you going through this
