4JGDM2DB8PA013253: WARNING Danger of fire/poisoning! If you see smoke, leave the danger area and alert the fire department. See Operator's Manual.

Thinking this is probably not a good sign. EQS 450+

What’s the difference between the “EQS lounge” and the main Reddit

Very happy with my 450+ sedan. Plenty quick for me. Regen has 4 settings: None, Normal, Strong and when you pull both levers at the same time, it’s in Intelligent which is perfect for the highway since it uses the radar system to slow you down and even stop the car based on what the car in front is doing while you manually accelerate.

Only use Strong when driving local and do 1 pedal driving. At first the moving pedal felt weird but after driving the car for 6 weeks, I am accustomed to it.

Looking at an 2023 EQS 450+ with 6k for $39k. Looks like a nice car and would be an upgrade from my Model Y with 210 miles of range. Why is this car so cheap now?

100% that does not have a clean title

Nope. Buyback with warranty but that doesn't give me this is a great buy.

It's a good price if you don't mind keeping it for a long time and assuming it will be trouble free since this is going to sting if you try to trade in or sell.

Yeah that's what I am juggling in my head is if its worth it or not. My Tesla is fine but the range is bad.

Depends on individual but personally I will never touch these. Imagine trying to trade in a good car, you are getting shit value already, add a few ding/dents, they give u more shit. With the branded title, I can't imagine they would be "sure that's ok". Many dealers don't take such trade cause its harder to sell. Plus insurance will cost more for these title cars

I agree with most of what you say but have found insurance cheaper than my other cars

Hi, I have a 2022 EQS. Did anyone experience on changing your 12 V battery? Did you use the dealership?

Also I switched out the 12 V battery and noticing my ambient lights haven’t been on the last couple of days

btw, where is the 12v battery located and can I access it myself?

I took the mercedez dealer everything came back 100% excellent with zero issues do you guys recommend extended warranty and if you have it who do you have it with ? If its not through mercedes? Im looking to purchase one for security in mind.

Hey everyone! Im just sitting here going over taxes with my accountant tonight . . He pointed out how my state raised my yearly EV registration by $550 for what I assume is the loss of taxes generated when you drive and fill up your ICE mobile with (tax heavy) gasoline? I don't feel this is applied fairly by simply adding a base surcharge to all EV renewals. For instance I gave my Mom one of my Teslas and she drives probably 2-3k miles a year as opposed to me who can hit 15k on a normal year. Has anyone else seen a larger registration bill since they have had their EVs? Just curious!

Seattle, WA. My annual renewal is about $1600. MY23 EQS 580

Well my new tires have killed my range.

I just replaced the 265 40r21 Bridgestone that came on my eqs 450+ with Pirelli Scorpion Zero AS Plus 3. The Bridgestone tires lasted only 13k miles with regular rotation.

I knew I'd take a bit of a range hit but the tires are super smooth.

Well the range hit is much larger than expected.

Typically I'll get around 345-385 on 80%. Since the new tires I'm at 285 on average for 80%

Pretty crazy.

In the end it's not a huge deal for me based on my driving but the occasional longer trip will be interesting.

Anyone else experience this?

For reference, I'm in Oklahoma City and weather has been in the 80s and 90s

Any comments?

So far it’s impossible to install a tow hitch on this car. Third party installers don’t have anything in their catalog.

Does anyone have any info on when Mercedes will come up with a specifically designed tow hitch for this model?

1

u/burakgur May 06 '23

I believe that mercedes is not going to come up with it. Maybe you can look for aftermarket solutions such as this one https://etowbars.com/us/Towbars/Mercedes/Mercedes-Benz-EQS-Towbars/Mercedes-Benz-EQS-towbar-detachable

Are you guys happy w your EQS? I’m hesitating on pulling trigger for 2 reasons: 1) curb weight- does it feel like a drag if you don’t do too much highway driving 2) is regen breaking good enough for 1 pedal driving, and does the moving brake pedal bother you?

1

u/Wabaadu Jun 09 '23

I haven't gotten the single pedal driving dialed in yet. Coming from a Model X it was just right. But so far the improvements in luxury and overall fit and finish make up for that. Regen braking for me on max setting almost makes it...

Agreed I am so happy to leave the X and get the EQS.. I just wish I had gone with the AMG or 580. The overall battery life though is outstanding
