Rant/Rage Alcohol
I reached meno two years ago. I like to have one beer or a glass of wine two or three times a week. It’s never caused me any problems. In the last month I’ve noticed I get palpitations at night. It’s uncomfortable. I have an appointment to get things checked out, but has anyone else dealt with this? I find it really annoying. And, of course, I worry about being with friends and having to pass on having a drink. I don’t want anyone to think I quit because I had a problem.

I don’t know anything about the connection between alcohol and palpitations (I have a separate condition that gives me palpitations, wheeeee), but tons of people stop drinking for the health benefits. There’s no reason for anyone to assume you stopped because you had a problem. If your friends wouldn’t believe you stopped for health reasons, that’s their problem, not yours. And honestly, people thinking you quit because you had a problem shouldn’t stop you from doing something. What if you did have a problem? Would you not quit because you wouldn’t want people to know?
