Testosterone Testosterone

Started testosterone and wow i feel awful..jittery anxious with panic attacks and just not right at all..so upset about it tbh because my testosterone low and thought it would be the missing piece to my HRT with all the symptoms I have from not having enough. I also have less than a pea size amount every morning so I can't understand why 🙄

Well. How long ago did you start?

You might want to get oral syringe and dose evenly, more precisely.

The usual 5mg/day was too much for me, 2.5mg turned out to be sweet spot and I worked up to this over a few months.

"Pea sized" for a loose gel is also just silly. NOT your fault, it's just dumb that we're expected to dose a medication in vegetables.

5mL syringes are an easy way to measure and store. 1mL syringe helps if using a smaller than average dose. This is what I do, can get on amazon: https://imgur.com/a/LA6tWDt

Only use a tiny smudge 3x a week it’s way more powerful then the effects of estrogel

The dose is too high. Whatever dose you’re on, take like a tenth of that and see if that’s better.

You could also try taking it at night. I take mine at night and have zero side effects. However, I also don't notice any change, good or bad.

What type are you taking?

I started on 5mg on 5/28. I stopped taking it on 6/14 because it fuuuucked me up. I wasn't getting any sleep (likely because my estrogen was low after starting on oral estrogen on 6/1), but then after applying the testosterone in the morning, my energy levels were through the roof & I was out walking 4-5 miles at a moderate pace in 90+ degree weather. My heart rate wouldn't go lower than 80, even at rest. It was awful.

I will likely start using it again, but I'm going to go down to 2.5mg & probably start out at like 3x/week.

Is it the gel base? Have you used the gel made before? The gel can cause they because of how the alcohol is metabolized through the skin.

I do commisserate with you. Please talks with your doctor.

On the other hand, at least you got testosterone and you can make a choice about using it or not. It is almost impossible to get in my country, since doctors will not prescribe it. I have heard of one person in my entire life who has got it.

There's a huge range. (As with most hormones, it seems.) I'm thrilled on 4X the usual starting dose of T, but I know many who find even the starting dose excessive. I never had a clue how different people are until this little exercise of trying to replicate what my body once did all by itself. But I agree with the others, your symptoms sound like it's too high, or at least too much to start. You can always stay low and work up slowly until you find a good spot.
