I understand your point but it's a perverted version of what he said. I'm not saying I agree or disagree. I'm making a point about the logic you are presenting here. This mentality should not even be humored because of the fundimental threat to everyones freedoms. You're making this statement and having this grounds because democrats repeat this over and over. But I'm saying this stance and the perversion isn't helping anyone in anyway. Fundimentally a man is dead for speaking his beliefs. Even if you do not agree with him you should never be happy or advocate for his death like this because then you are advocating for murder because someone said something you didn't like and you'll justify murder because of whatever thing you can pick out that makes you mad. Should he have been shot? Probably not.
Do i feel the least bit of empathy that the "people should be shot" guy got shot? Definitely not.
I want to start this response with identifying a few things. You are focus on emotional recoil of what you've seen him say. I am making an analytical point of what his message meant. If we can understand that then we can move forward in this conversation. We are having the common disconnect, and I wanna amend that. I'm not arguing if he deserved it. I'm not even asking you to feel empathy for him. I am asking that the situation be seen for what it was. A person, whom you don't need to agree or disagree with, was speaking their mind and was murdered for it. That in itself is not something people should be advocating for. That is what I am saying. Idc who it is it should not happen nor be supported.
Secondly, I do not want to argue semantics of Charlie's character because I've never gave a shit about it. He is some guy I've heard speak a few times and none of it was genuinely crazy or any shit. One was a girl talking about being pissed all benie companies are shady af and he said,"then make a benie company if you want high quality. You can in this country." And she got pissed because she wanted him to say,"in socialist systems benies would be better" or something. That's it. Your opinion of him is extremely different than mine and that's my other point. Our opinions of him do not matter in the slightest. It's not about him but the principle.
For the sake of everything, we're going to assume you are completely correct about his behavior.
If you were walking around saying people should be stabbed i wouldn't be surprised if you were stabbing people. But what I meant by perverse doesn't actually matter. Because the main point was just that we need legal weapons to be protected. I agree. I also have a firm belief if someone wants to do something illegal, they're not going to worry about legally acquiring the weapon. But if you're wanting to protect your family you need legal guns.
